I e'er have considered sideslip covers as worthless. The environs takes a hit but if X person wants a slipcovers, and then its ok? And its has to toll more to make for companies correct? (might be cents, but that'due south millions of cents for each motion-picture show). Probably just ranting a bit. I'd give ya my Night Knight cover, merely probably won't as its non cost effective to fifty-fifty transport it in my listen.

That doesn't make whatsoever sense. If the skid cover is the verbal aforementioned thing every bit the front and back cover of the case, why bother with it at all? It's just a waste of cardboard and that'due south what 90% of the slip covers are.

Information technology tin protect the case from damage, that'southward the major entreatment of slipcovers to me, and some movies do indeed have unlike slipcover art, which is worthwhile as well.

Protect the case from damage? The example is there to protect the disc and accept the harm. I'm paying for the disc inside non the instance that it comes in. Why non get every bit far equally to have a slipcase for the slipcase?

Do people actually collect the slipcovers themselves, fifty-fifty independent of the picture show? Or purchase a movie but for the slipover? If and so, that is one of the most obscure/niche hobbies I've encountered. Kind of like collecting wrappers, I think that'southward a hobby right?

I'll purchase a movie if information technology has a slipcover but if information technology's for a movie that I accept no interest in so I'm non likewise worried almost information technology.
I practise collect just the slips also merely a lot of times I'll get the movie for information technology afterwards because I like to wait for the price to go down and many slips merely run for a limited time so if you don't get it and so it's gone.
Collecting slipcovers is no different then collecting cards or comic books.
And some slips do accept a rarity level to them and can fetch up to $60 depending on the slip.
If y'all want a case of a unique slipcover then look at The Golden Compass, not the flat one but the i that is embossed. It's probably 1 of the most beautiful slipcovers out at that place, very detailed.

Where and or how do people identify rarity of slips? Whatsoever of mine to a higher place "rare"?

Where and or how do people place rarity of slips? Any of mine above "rare"?
I guess rarity is determined by the "marketplace" of people who are looking for slipcovers. Movies that come with slipcovers when they're first released won't have them in subsequently batches. I presume big sellers that were mass produced will have slipcovers that are easier to come by. I know the special edition of Casino Royale had a slipcover that is apparently difficult to find.
I e'er take considered slip covers as worthless. The surround takes a hit but if Ten person wants a slipcovers, and so its ok?
Do y'all also drive a hybrid, accept solar panels on your house and just consume organic?

At that place isn't a rarity listing anymore as information technology was causing a lot of problems inside the skid customs. I do know what is rare and tin give you prices if you would similar to know.
As well all of your slips are pretty standard and usually sell around $ii-$5.
Slips like Crank, Bram Stokers Dracula, Moon are worth more.
I always have considered sideslip covers as worthless. The environment takes a hitting but if X person wants a slipcovers, then its ok? And its has to cost more to make for companies right?
I don't meet information technology anymore worthless and then people making Ethanol which takes corn from the supply and price simply as much to make are regular fuel.
I believe in being a good steward likewise the earth not forcing "light-green down people's throat." I recycle my soda cans and what take not but I'1000 not going to chain myself to a tree or get a Prius. And I understand your concern but people will still want slips.
Oh aye I hate those eco cases too. There a waste material and a joke.
Viva Elite brand the ones with the cutout which are horrible. They should have taken a note from Vortex which also make eco cases but were smart about doing it. At that place'southward are slightly thinner but don't have freaking huge holes in them.
+1 to Vortex Eco Cases. -1200 to Viva Elite and their Eco Cases.
